STAIMO Analysıs

As part of Solen Marine Service commitment to excellence, we utilize STAIMO Analysis software, developed by the STA-Group, for the analysis of Speed/Power Trials in accordance with the ITTC 7.5-04-01-01 “Recommended Procedures and Guidelines for Speed and Power Trials.” These guidelines were adopted by the IMO MEPC for Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) in 2012 and updated in 2014, with the release of STAIMO 1.0. This software implements the ISO standard ISO 15016: 2015, which provides guidelines for assessing speed and power performance based on speed trial data. A key feature of the software is the “iterative method,” which allows for the correction of current measurements. With the manual input of ship data and the data measured during the trials the software will analyse the ship speed both at contract and EEDI power. The analysis include correction for wind, waves , shallow water, temperature and density. The output of STAIMO is a speed trial report required for EEDI and delivery of the vessel.
Each report produced by STAIMO is automatically numbered by the software.

These tests are particularly essential when modifications are made to the vessel, such as changes to the propeller or bulb, or any structural alterations. These adjustments can significantly impact the vessel’s hydrodynamic performance, necessitating a thorough reevaluation through sea trials to confirm that the new configurations meet performance and safety standards.

To provide precise analysis and reporting, we utilize STAIMO Analysis software, which allows us to conduct in-depth evaluations of vessel performance data. This advanced program assists in the simulation and interpretation of various operational scenarios, ensuring our assessments are accurate and comprehensive.

Our dedicated team of marine engineers and technicians ensures that each sea trial is conducted with meticulous attention to detail, providing clients with valuable insights into the vessel’s capabilities and areas for improvement. Whether it’s for a newly built ship or one that has undergone repairs, Solen Marine Service is committed to delivering the highest standards of quality and performance through our sea trial services.
